Paperex South India 2026 runs from 3–5 Dec 2026 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Paper, tissue and packaging brands face an unusual challenge at a show like this: much of the product is flat, white or brown, and looks a lot like the product on the next stall. The stall has to do the work of making differences in grade, strength, texture and print quality visible.

The short answer is to show your product in use, let visitors touch it, and light it so its true colour and finish come through. Then give buyers and converters a quiet place to talk about specifications and supply. Our Paperex South India 2026 show page has the key details.

Make a flat product interesting

Show it in use

A stack of board on a shelf says little. A finished carton, a retail-ready display, a printed bag or a tissue product in its dispenser shows what your material makes possible. Build a display that runs from raw grade to finished product, so a visitor sees the journey in one glance.

Texture walls and swatch panels

Mount large panels of different grades, finishes and GSMs side by side on a feature wall, with short labels. Visitors run their hands along them, which is exactly what you want. Swatch books and pull-out drawers on the counter let a buyer compare grades without your team fetching samples from storage.

Using your own material in the stall

Packaging brands sometimes want to build parts of the stall from their own corrugated board or paper. It can work well for display units and counters, but check the exhibitor manual first. Organisers often have rules on combustible materials and may require fire-retardant treatment or certificates. We can build a strong frame and clad it with your material where permitted.

Lighting and sample care

White paper shows every colour cast. Warm lights make it look yellow, cool lights make it look blue, and mixed lighting makes adjacent samples look like different grades. Use one consistent, neutral light across the product walls and test real samples under it before the show.

  • Keep spotlights at an angle so glossy and coated grades do not glare.
  • Store spare samples in sealed boxes or bags inside a closed cupboard, because humidity can curl and soften paper over a few days.
  • Replace handled samples every morning. A dog-eared swatch makes a premium grade look cheap.
  • Keep printed samples away from direct heat from light fittings.
  • Carry enough take-away sample packs for the visitors you most want, and a form to request larger samples later.

Space for buyers and converters

Most serious conversations at Paperex are about specifications, volumes, consistency and delivery. These need a table, chairs and a little quiet. On an inline stall, place a meeting table at the back. On a corner or island stall, a semi-closed meeting area with a screen for technical data sheets works well.

If you sell machinery or converting equipment rather than paper itself, plan the stall around the machines first. Confirm machine weights, power needs and move-in timings with the organiser before the stall design is fixed.

What to put on the meeting table

Buyers at a paper and packaging show often want to compare quickly. Keep a set of reference samples at the meeting table, separate from the display samples that visitors handle, along with printed or digital data sheets for each grade. A tablet with your full range and a simple enquiry form lets your team capture exact requirements during the conversation, rather than trying to remember them at the end of the day.

If sustainability is part of your offer, such as recycled content, compostable grades or plastic replacement packaging, give it a clear, factual panel near the meeting area. Use only claims you can back with certificates, and keep the certificates handy. Buyers increasingly ask, and a vague green message without proof does more harm than good.

Timeline for a Chennai show

Our factory is in Bengaluru, so for Chennai we ask for the brief 4–6 weeks before the show. The steps are the same for every build:

  1. Brief: stall size, stall type, products to display and how many people will staff it.
  2. 3D design, revisions and the final drawings for organiser submission.
  3. Fabrication, graphics and lighting in our factory, with your sample panels mounted where possible.
  4. Full dry-assembly and a walkthrough with your team.
  5. Transport to Chennai, installation by our own crew and support through the show.
  6. Dismantling, and storage if you want to use the stall again.

The Chennai Trade Centre venue guide covers venue planning notes. Confirm build-up timings, height limits and power ordering deadlines in the exhibitor manual. For more on local builds, see our page on exhibition stalls in Chennai, and our Chennai location page for how we work in the city.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Rows of identical white samples with tiny labels.
  • Lighting that changes the colour of the product.
  • Samples left out to curl and get handled until they look worn.
  • No seating for the buyers who came to talk about supply.
  • Combustible display materials that the organiser has not approved.
