Exhibiting in Pune: Stall Planning for Auto and Engineering Shows
Planning a stall in Pune: the automotive, engineering and IT audiences, venue checks, lead times from Bengaluru and how to combine Pune with Mumbai shows.

Pune is a strong exhibition city for automotive, auto components, engineering, manufacturing and technology companies. Its shows draw plant engineers, purchase teams, OEM buyers and IT decision makers from across western India. A stall that works in Pune shows the product clearly, gives technical buyers someone knowledgeable to talk to and has space for a proper meeting.
Exhibitions in and around Pune run at several venues, including exhibition grounds and halls in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial belt and at Moshi. For a stall built at our Bengaluru factory, we ask for a brief 6 to 8 weeks before the show.
Who you will meet at Pune shows
Pune's industrial base means many visitors are engineers and buyers who understand the product as well as your team does. They want specifications, build quality and support details. Marketing slogans alone will not hold their attention.
- Display physical products, components or cut sections that buyers can inspect.
- Staff the stall with application or service engineers, not only sales people.
- Provide a meeting area where drawings and quotes can be discussed.
- Use screens for process videos or software demos, placed so they do not block the product.
- Keep printed or digital datasheets ready for every product on display.
Showing parts and components well
Many Pune exhibitors sell components rather than finished products: castings, fasteners, electronics, bearings, sub-assemblies. These are small, often grey or metallic, and easy to overlook on a busy stall. Good display design makes a big difference.
- Mount small parts on contrasting backgrounds at eye height, not flat on a low table.
- Use focused lighting on each display so finishes and machining detail are visible.
- Show a component next to the assembly it goes into, so buyers see where it fits.
- Display cut sections or exploded views for parts whose quality is hidden inside.
- Keep handling samples at the counter so buyers can pick them up without disturbing the display.
A well-lit wall of components with clear labels does more for a technical buyer than a large lifestyle graphic. Use the graphics to say what you make and for which industries, and let the parts do the rest.
Venue checks before design
Pune's venues range from permanent halls to large grounds with temporary structures. Conditions vary a great deal, so read the organiser's exhibitor manual for your specific show before the design is final, and check these points.
- Whether your stall is in a permanent hall, a temporary hangar or an open area.
- Plot size, open sides and maximum build height.
- Floor type and load limits, especially for heavy machines or vehicles.
- Power: load available, supply type and application deadline.
- Vehicle access, gate timings and unloading arrangements.
- Build-up and dismantling dates and hours.
In a temporary hangar, the floor may not be perfectly level and the lighting can be dimmer than in a permanent hall. A raised platform and good stall lighting fix both problems. Ask the organiser whether hangar lighting stays on during build-up, as crews often work late, and plan for extra work lights if needed.
Combining Pune with Mumbai
Pune and Mumbai are close enough that many companies exhibit in both cities over a season. If that is your plan, it makes sense to design one stall that can work at both, with changes to graphics and layout as needed.
- Build a modular core that can be reconfigured for different plot sizes and open sides.
- Plan graphics per show so the stall feels specific to each audience.
- Arrange storage in western India between shows if the gap is short, rather than returning the stall to Bengaluru.
- Keep the same crew across both shows so installation is quick and consistent.

Timeline from Bengaluru
A Pune stall follows the same steps as any out-of-state build: design, approval, fabrication, dry assembly, packing, transport and installation. The difference is that every step needs to finish a little earlier to leave room for the drive.
- Weeks 8 to 6: brief, plot details and first 3D design.
- Weeks 6 to 5: revisions and organiser submission.
- Weeks 5 to 2: fabrication, finishing and graphics.
- Week 2: dry assembly and sign-off in the factory.
- Final week: packing, transport and installation on build-up days.
Dealer meets and launches in Pune
Pune is also a common city for dealer meets, product launches and regional partner events, especially in automotive and industrial sectors. Our Pune dealer meet and launch team handles stage, sets, screens, sound and lighting for these events at hotels and venues across the city.
Mistakes to avoid
- Treating a Pune show as a quick hop from Bengaluru and briefing too late.
- Using a sales-heavy stall for an engineering audience that wants technical detail.
- Ignoring floor and lighting conditions in temporary structures.
- Not coordinating machine or vehicle arrival with the stall build.
- Building separate stalls for Pune and Mumbai when one plan could serve both.
Our Pune location page lists the areas and services we cover in the city.
