Exhibiting in Coimbatore: Industrial Shows and Stall Planning

How to plan a stall for Coimbatore's industrial shows: CODISSIA, heavy machinery, pumps and textiles, what buyers expect, timelines and what to confirm early.

The stall in use

Coimbatore is an industrial show city first. Its exhibitions centre on engineering, machine tools, pumps and motors, foundry, textiles and textile machinery, agriculture equipment and industrial supply. The visitors are factory owners, plant engineers and buyers from across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, many from small and medium manufacturers who come to compare machines and talk prices.

The main venue is the CODISSIA trade fair complex. A good Coimbatore stall shows the machine clearly, keeps live demos safe and gives buyers a place to sit and negotiate. We build Coimbatore stalls in Bengaluru and ask for a brief 4 to 6 weeks before the show.

Who visits Coimbatore shows

Coimbatore buyers are practical. They want to see the machine run, check the build quality, ask about service and spares, and talk about delivery and payment. Many visit with a partner or a technical person, and decisions are often made by the owner on the spot or soon after.

  • Put the machine where it can be seen from the aisle and walked around.
  • Have someone technical at the stall all day, not only sales staff.
  • Display service and spares support clearly; it often matters as much as the machine.
  • Use Tamil alongside English on key signage if your buyers include smaller local firms.
  • Give buyers a seated area away from the noise of the demo.

Stalls for heavy machinery

Machinery changes the stall plan. The structure is often lighter around the machine, and the effort goes into floor planning, safety and access.

  1. Confirm the floor load allowed in your hall and how machines are brought in. Ask the organiser about crane or forklift arrangements.
  2. Agree with the organiser when the machine arrives relative to the stall build. Usually heavy machines go in first.
  3. Plan the stall structure around the machine footprint, leaving clear access for positioning and removal.
  4. Mark a safe viewing distance for running demos with barriers, a raised edge or flooring changes.
  5. Order enough power for the machine and the stall, and confirm the supply type the machine needs.

If the machine sits on a raised platform, check that the platform is built for the load and that the ramp or access works for the equipment used to place it.

What to confirm in the exhibitor manual

CODISSIA has several halls and outdoor spaces, and the rules vary by show. Read the manual for your show and check the following before the design is final.

  • Hall or open area, stall size and open sides.
  • Maximum build height and rules for fascia and overhead structures.
  • Floor load limits and any rules about anchoring or levelling machines.
  • Power load available, supply type and application deadline.
  • Rules for running machines: noise, emissions, guarding and demo timings.
  • Build-up and dismantling dates, hours and vehicle access.

Outdoor stalls and weather

Some Coimbatore shows place heavy equipment in open areas. Outdoor stalls need sturdier fixings, weatherproof graphics and a plan for sun and rain. Shade over the meeting area makes a difference to how long buyers stay.

  • Use outdoor-grade printing and secure every panel against wind.
  • Provide a shaded, seated area for conversations.
  • Plan cable routing so it is safe from rain and foot traffic.
  • Check with the organiser what ground surface you will be building on.

Timeline and transport

Coimbatore is a straightforward drive from our factory in Bengaluru. Stalls are built, dry-assembled and checked first, then trucked to the venue with our crew. A brief 4 to 6 weeks out gives enough time for design, organiser approval and fabrication. If you also exhibit at machinery shows in Bengaluru, a reusable stall can serve both cities with graphics changes and some reconfiguration.

Coimbatore companies often run dealer meets and product launches for their regional networks too. Our Coimbatore dealer meet team handles those, and you can see our Coimbatore exhibition stalls page for more on stall work. The Coimbatore location page lists the areas we cover.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Designing walls and fascia before confirming how the machine will be moved in.
  • Running demos without a clear safe zone for visitors.
  • Too little power, or the wrong supply type, for the machine on display.
  • No seating, so buyers leave to find somewhere quieter to talk.
  • Hiding service and spares information that buyers want to see.

Information to send with your brief

For a machinery stall, the most useful brief is one that describes the exhibits in detail. The structure, flooring and power all follow from what you put on display. The more of this we have at the start, the closer the first design will be.

  1. A list of every machine or product you plan to display, with dimensions and weight.
  2. Which machines will run during the show, and what power, air or water they need.
  3. Any guarding, noise or safety arrangements your machines come with.
  4. How the machines will reach the venue and who will handle unloading and positioning.
  5. How many staff will be on the stall and how many meetings you expect each day.
  6. Brand guidelines, logos and any product photos or videos for the graphics and screens.

If some of these details are not final, send what you have and mark what may change. We can design around a placeholder machine footprint and adjust later, as long as the final sizes reach us before fabrication starts.
