Bombay Exhibition Centre Goregaon: Stall Planning for Mumbai Shows
Planning a stall at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: Mumbai truck logistics, manual checks, busy-hall design and handling back-to-back shows at one venue.

Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon is one of Mumbai's main venues for trade shows, from building materials and interiors to metallurgy and welding. Planning a stall there is mostly about Mumbai logistics: getting a truck into a busy city at the right time, working inside the organiser's build-up window, and designing a stall that holds its own in a crowded hall.
We build in Bengaluru and truck to Mumbai. Here is how we plan it, what to check in the exhibitor manual, and how to handle two shows at the same venue a week apart.
Timeline and road logistics from Bengaluru
For Mumbai we ask for a brief 6–8 weeks ahead. The road journey is long, and Mumbai has its own rules on when heavy vehicles may move within city limits. Confirm the current rules and the venue's truck entry times with the organiser, then plan dispatch backwards from the entry slot.
- Fix the build-up start date and truck entry window from the manual.
- Work back to the dispatch date, with a buffer for the highway and for city entry timing.
- Set the dry-assembly date at our factory a few days before dispatch, with time for snag fixes.
- Work back again to fabrication start, design sign-off and the brief.
- Book crew travel so they reach Mumbai before the truck does.
Timing the truck is half the job. A vehicle that reaches the city at the wrong hour may have to wait outside, and every hour waiting is an hour lost from build-up.
What to confirm in the exhibitor manual
We do not assume hall specs at any venue. Rules at Bombay Exhibition Centre vary by hall and by show, so check each of these for yours.
- Hall and plot, open sides and the permitted build height.
- Rules and approvals for double-decker stalls, if you are considering one.
- Truck entry windows, vehicle passes and the unloading arrangement for your hall.
- Power ordering, load declaration and deadline.
- Fire safety and material rules, including certificates if required.
- Build-up and dismantle hours, and whether night work is allowed.
- Contractor registration and deposit process.
Designing for a busy Mumbai hall
Big trade shows in Mumbai draw heavy footfall, and aisles get crowded. Visitors decide quickly whether to stop, often from several stalls away.
- Put a clear brand marker high enough to be seen over the crowd, within the height limit.
- Keep the frontage open but managed, with a reception point that greets people without blocking them.
- Group products into zones by category so visitors can find what they came for.
- Set the meeting area back from the aisle, where conversations are not drowned out.
- Build in more storage than you think you need. Stock, literature and bags pile up fast.
Shows at Bombay Exhibition Centre
ACETECH Mumbai 2026 runs 19–22 November 2026. For building-materials and interiors brands, the stall itself is a product demonstration. Surfaces, fittings and finishes should be installed as they would be in a real room, with lighting good enough to show texture and true colour.
METEC India 2026 and India Essen Welding & Cutting 2026 run 30 November–2 December 2026 at the same venue. Metallurgy and welding exhibitors need heavy-duty flooring, clear safety zones for any live demos, and power planned for equipment, not just for lighting.
Two shows, one venue, a week apart
Some companies exhibit at ACETECH and at METEC or Essen, or work with group companies that do. With about a week between them at the same venue, there are real choices to make.
- Two separate stalls: simplest when the audiences and products are very different. Each is designed for its own show.
- One modular stall, reconfigured: the same platform, frames and furniture, with new graphics and a changed layout. Works when the brand is the same and the plots are similar in size.
- Storage in Mumbai between shows: avoids a return trip to Bengaluru in the gap. Ask your fabricator where the stall will be stored and how it will be protected.
Whichever you choose, decide before design starts, not after the first show. A modular stall needs its panel sizes and layout worked out for both plots at once. Storage needs a date, a place and a plan for checking and cleaning the stall before it goes back into the hall. And two separate stalls need two sets of drawings, two power orders and two sets of approvals, so the paperwork doubles even if the crew is the same.
If you are planning a run of shows, design for reuse from the start. Joints, panel sizes and graphic fixings all change when a stall is meant to be put up more than once.
Build-up and dismantle tips for Mumbai
- Reach the gate early within the permitted window; queues build quickly on the first day.
- Keep crew passes and documents with the crew lead, not in the truck.
- Protect crates during unloading if rain is possible, whatever the season.
- Dismantle on time. Overstaying can affect your deposit and delay the next show's build-up.
- Our crew stays through the show for fixes and handles dismantling and packing.
