Banking, Insurance and Fintech Stalls: Trust, Privacy and Queue Design

Designing a bank, insurance or fintech exhibition stall: building trust, private desks for personal details, managing queues and handling paperwork.

Clean lines, a lit logo and a proper table help a financial brand feel steady.

Banks, insurers and fintech companies are not selling a product people can hold. They are asking visitors to trust them with money and personal details. A good financial services stall looks steady and well run, gives people privacy when they share information, and handles a queue without making anyone feel processed.

The design choices that matter most are the ones visitors feel rather than see: how far apart the desks are, whether someone can overhear an account number, how long people stand before they are helped, and whether the staff look organised. Here is how we plan these stalls.

What trust looks like on a stall

Financial brands do not need flashy builds. Visitors read quality and order as signs of a reliable institution. A cluttered stall with loose brochures and tangled cables sends the wrong message, however good the offer.

  • Clean, solid construction with good finishes. Wobbly walls or peeling vinyl undermine everything else.
  • Brand colours used with restraint, and a logo that is well lit and easy to spot from across the hall.
  • Clear signs for what visitors can do here: open an account, check a loan, buy a policy, ask a question.
  • Staff uniforms or a consistent dress code, and a reception point so nobody wanders in unsure who to ask.
  • Tidy storage so brochures, forms and devices are out of sight until needed.

Privacy for personal conversations

Many visitors to a bank or insurer stall will share income, ID numbers or health details. Even a short conversation about a loan feels uncomfortable if the next visitor is standing a metre away. Design for privacy from the start.

Practical privacy options

  1. Seated desks spaced apart with low dividers or side panels, so conversations do not carry to the next desk.
  2. Desks facing into the stall, with the visitor's back to a wall rather than to the aisle.
  3. Screens and tablets angled so passers-by cannot read them.
  4. One or two enclosed cabins for detailed discussions like home loans, claims or wealth products.
  5. A lockable drawer at each desk for forms and documents collected during the day.

Enclosed cabins need doors that close properly and some ventilation or air movement, since hall air conditioning does not always reach inside small closed spaces. Check whether the organiser has rules on closed rooms within stalls.

Queue design: welcoming, not a counter

Consumer-facing shows, government schemes and offers can bring long queues to bank and insurance stalls. A queue that spills into the aisle annoys neighbours and organisers, and people standing in the sun or blocking a walkway leave before they reach you.

  • Plan a waiting zone inside the stall line, with a clear start and end point.
  • Use a greeter at the front to sort visitors by need, so a quick question does not wait behind a full application.
  • Give people something useful while they wait: an eligibility checker on a screen, a short printed guide, or a form to start filling in.
  • Add a few seats if the wait is likely to be long, especially for older visitors.
  • Keep a separate quick-help counter for simple queries, so desks are free for longer conversations.

On long consumer fairs like IITF 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, which runs from 14 to 27 November 2026, crowd levels change a lot between weekdays and weekends. Plan the queue for the busiest days, and use the quieter days for longer consultations.

Digital journeys and devices

Fintech companies often want visitors to download an app or sign up on the spot. Make it easy. Large QR codes at reading height, staff with tablets, and a short, tested journey that works on a weak network. Check the organiser's connectivity options and have a backup plan, because hall Wi-Fi can slow down when the show is busy.

Every device needs charging and secure storage overnight. We plan charging points inside counters and lockable compartments for tablets and laptops, so they are not left on desks at closing time.

Paperwork and compliance on site

If you collect forms, copies of ID or signed documents at the stall, plan where they go. Your compliance team will have rules on how customer data and physical documents must be handled, and those rules should shape the stall design. Ask them early about storage, who can access it, and how documents leave the venue each day.

Graphics on financial stalls often carry offers, interest rates or claims. Get these approved by your compliance team before artwork is finalised, because reprinting graphics late is slow and wasteful. Keep rate-specific information on screens or small removable panels, so it can change without rebuilding walls.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Open desks lined up along the aisle, where every conversation is public.
  2. No waiting zone, so queues block the aisle and neighbours complain.
  3. Rates and offers printed on permanent walls that cannot be updated.
  4. Tablets and forms with no secure place to go at night.
  5. Last-minute compliance changes to graphics, after printing.

Financial brands that show across many cities benefit from a consistent stall kit that can be stored and reused. A standard set of desks, cabins and walls keeps every stall recognisable and saves design time. See how reusable stalls work.
